Elements Interior Design : Interior design of an old traction engine shed in Hertfordshire from its tumbledown state to a gorgeous rural residence

Brief : To work alongside the clients on their barn renovation. Initial works began prior to the start of the build going over the architects plans and working through the room layouts. Bathroom planning was started at an early stage working around tricky sloping ceilings and restricted head heights, in readiness for the start of the build. Input was given throughout the build choosing finishes sympathetic to the nature of the building, along with muted colours for the interior and exterior that contrasted with dramatic Crittal style internal doors and dark oak beams. Floor plans were created for each room with electrical layouts to ensure the correct placings of sockets and light fittings. Careful consideration was given to illuminating the characterful beams retained from the original building. Collaborating with the clients on each of the room designs to create a stylish, rustic, classy finish resulted in a beautiful, quality and unique home.
